wire removal

The Lorain Avenue Streetscape Improvement Project continues to chug along! Planters are being filled with vegetation and trees, the wiring on the poles and the poles themselves are coming down, and soon the traffic lights and the historic lighting posts will be installed.

Meanwhile, funding for a "Phase III,” using Federal Stimulus dollars, has been moved to "Tier 1" status, and is likely to be funded. This means that the historic lighting would continue all the way to the Lorain Avenue bridge and re-surfacing of the pavement from the bridge to West 150th would take place next year. Keep your fingers crossed! See design details in on our website.

Marilyn Valentino

Merchant Spotlight

Marilyn Valentino owns and operates West Park Massotherapy. A licensed massage therapist since 1998, Marilyn exudes a calm spirit that she has helped others to achieve through her services. After renting an office suite at 4168 Rocky River Drive for nine years, Marilyn and her husband Mike who is a skilled tradesman and owner of Valentino Construction, purchased and are rehabbing the entire building.

As a result, West Park Massotherapy has expanded to include a dance and multi-purpose studio on the building’s first floor, adding classes in body movement, dance, and aerobics. Before becoming a licensed massage therapist, Marilyn taught dance at Arthur Murray Dance Studio. She has a strong passion about the benefits and pleasures that dance can bring into one’s life. Her added mission is “fitness through dance, while learning a new skill, and most of all having fun!”

Marilyn is teaching affordable dance classes along with another professional instructor, Patricia Greener. Interested? Call 216-671-6080 to make reservations for private lessons and for classes including aerobics, Wholistic Movement ™, Pilates, ballroom dancing, and more. Of course, therapeutic massage is still the primary focus of West Park Massotherapy, offering a full spectrum of massage methods by licensed professionals with years of training and experience.

Customer appreciation week takes place October 6th through 10th, with specials being offered such as a $50 relaxation massage (normally $65) and “try any class for half price.” Check out the Premier jewelry party October 8th at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Stop in that week to meet the staff, see the new studio space, and learn more about what’s being offered. Visit the website for details.
