Targeted Vandalism No Match for Neighborhood Spirit!

Organizers of the Larchwood Block Club were recently victims of targeted vandalism to their vehicles. To show neighborhood support for the club, Councilman Keane and KCDC have organized a buffet dinner at Back Stage Bar (17007 Lorain Ave, just west of Walgreens) on Wednesday, November 4th. Come out and support your neighbors and your neighborhood!

See the flyer here and spread the word!

Visit Winter Wonderland at Kamm's Corners on Friday, December 4th!

Horse & Sleigh

Enjoy horse-drawn sleigh rides in December at Kamm's Plaza.

The magic begins at 6 p.m. under the clock in Downtown Kamm’s Corners at Lorain Avenue and Rocky River Drive. Cecilia’s Song, an a cappella choir from Saint Joseph Academy, will sing a medley of holiday tunes. Everyone will be invited to join in the caroling until Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by horse-drawn sleigh to greet the crowd. Then all will follow Santa to Kamms Plaza for a Winter Wonderland from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Enjoy a barber shop quartet, horse-drawn sleigh rides, face painting, balloon creatures, and crafts for the kids. Free refreshments will be served. You may be an instant winner of a great door prize donated by local merchants! At around 8 p.m. a big drawing will be held for two televisions, a DVD player, and an MP3 player, all donated by Kamms Plaza. (Adults only for the big drawing, please.) This free event is sponsored by Kamms Plaza Shopping Center with the cooperation of KCDC.

Have You Seen the New Lighting on the North Side of Lorain Avenue?  It was finally electrified last week. Not only do the lights look great, but they cast a nice white light on the sidewalk and storefronts that really brings a warmth to the street. It's particularly apparent with the south side still sporting the old light fixtures. Crews will continue to work on the lights and the removal of the old poles and wiring for the next several weeks. See a new light pole installation below, and note the difference between the new and the old poles.

Our new planters now have vegetation and trees in them.  Because streetscape planners had the foresight to install electric outlets in them, holiday lighting will be able to be installed on the trees, making for a festive "downtown" Kamm's Corners!
