The Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market was one of 10 organizations awarded a grant by Dominion East Ohio today at its annual Community Impact Awards competition.

A panel of community judges selected the winners from more than 98 entries submitted by organizations throughout northeast Ohio in the 14th annual competition. The award recognizes cities or organizations that have made a significant impact in the community. Funding for the awards comes from the Dominion Foundation, which is dedicated to the economic, physical, and social health of the communities served by Dominion companies. With deep gratitude, we thank Dominion East Ohio for the award to support the continued success of the Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market!

The West Park YMCA has partnered with PJ McIntyre's (17119 Lorain Avenue) on a fundraiser to support the Strong Kids campaign at the Y. Strong Kids is a scholarship program that allows kids to participate in programs at the Y, even if they don't have the money to do so.

On Tuesday, March 31st, from 5 to 9 p.m., a portion of the sales a PJ's will be donated to the Strong Kids campaign. Please patronize PJ's that evening. Not only will you be helping a most worthwhile cause, but also the Cavs will be playing the Detroit Pistons on the big screen. Mark your calendar and come root for the Cavs and help out neighborhood kids at the same time! Every dollar raised stays at our local branch.

Questions? Call the branch at 216-941-5410.

Demolition is completed on the former St. Vincent DePaul and Valley Furniture Warehouse building at 16710-30 Lorain Avenue. Developer Jason Laver will later pave the area for a parking lot and patio for a restaurant (yet to be identified) that will inhabit the former Kilbane’s Pub building at 16800 Lorain. The Kilbane’s building will be transformed to its former glory through use of the City of Cleveland’s Storefront Renovation Program administered locally by KCDC. The interior of the structure will be gutted in the coming weeks to be ready for the design of the new restaurant tenant. Talks continue with several prospects including Mexican, Italian, and Bistro style restaurants. Stay tuned!

The current issue shown at the left features the demolition and is coming soon to your mailbox. It will be viewable on line starting March 6th.
