In January, Fairview Hospital was notified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center that it received Magnet Status, the highest national award for nursing excellence. Fairview Hospital is the first Cleveland Clinic regional hospital to receive the Magnet designation. Only 5% of the nation’s hospitals have received Magnet designation. The prestigious award was bestowed after nearly 3,500 pages of submitted documentation followed by a three-day on-site inspection by Magnet appraisers. Independent studies have shown that patients who receive care at Magnet hospitals have a shorter length of stay and higher satisfaction rates. Home Weatherization Assistance Program (HWAP) Applications are available now. This timely reminder comes as the need for energy efficiency becomes more apparent. HWAP is available to Cleveland homeowners and tenants who meet income guidelines. The HWAP program provides grants of $3,900 per unit to income eligible Cleveland homeowners and tenants who wish to weatherize their home or apartment this winter.
