Annual Town Meeting
Thursday, June 5 at 7 PM

Join your neighbors and friends at our Annual Town Meeting—7 PM Thursday, June 5th at St. Joseph Academy, 3430 Rocky River Drive. Our featured speaker will be Dr. Woodrow Whitlow, Director of NASA Glenn Research Center on the occasion of NASA’s 50th anniversary in Cleveland. A Kamm’s Corners resident, Dr. Whitlow is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities required to accomplish the missions assigned to the center. Other speakers will include Ward 21 Councilman Martin J. Keane and KCDC Executive Director Steve Lorenz offering updates on current neighborhood projects and plans.

There will be giveaways at the end of the evening, including Cleveland Indians tickets and terrific gifts from area merchants. Simply put your name in the goblet to participate in the free drawing! The Bob Bohr Award for Community Safety will be presented along with Community Improvement Awards and more.

You'll be glad you attended this feature-packed once-a-year event.

The Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market will return June 8th with fresh produce, cheese, honey, meat, coffee, and lots of other food and fun! The market will continue every Sunday from 10 AM to 2 PM through October. A perennial exchange takes place on opening day. To participate, simply divide your plants and bring them to the market to exchange with other participants.

Opening day entertainment includes a musical performance by Brand New Hat. Gary Richmond, chef/co-owner at Johnny Mango will be offering a cooking demonstration at 12:30 PM. Additionally, Yester Year Horse & Carriage will offer horse-drawn wagon rides for only $1!

Asphalt Cinema Moves to the West Park YMCA parking lot. See a free movie under the stars at our popular Asphalt Cinema returning for a sixth season on the third Friday of June, July, and August, but at a new location: 15501 Lorain Avenue in the parking lot behind the YMCA. The move will bring added fun, such as free family swim time at the Y before each movie. Also, children may romp in the newly built playground adjacent to the site. Before the movie begins, we’ll offer creative games and activities, a bubble gum blowing contest, and refreshments as in the past, starting at 6:30 PM. The first movie, June 20th, is Bee Movie, rated PG.
