Santa Visits Kamm’s Corners on Friday, December 1! The magic begins at 6 p.m. under the clock in Downtown Kamm’s Corners at Lorain Avenue and Rocky River Drive. Cecilia’s Song, an a cappella choir from Saint Joseph Academy, will sing a medley of holiday tunes. Everyone will be invited to join in the caroling until Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by horse-drawn sleigh to greet the crowd. Then all will follow Santa “Under the Big Top” for a circus-themed Winter Wonderland from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. inside the former Medic Drugstore at Kamms Plaza. Enjoy the clowns, balloons, entertainment, and refreshments. Enter a free raffle for some great prizes donated by local merchants. This free event is sponsored by Kamms Plaza Shopping Center with the cooperation of KCDC.

West Park Station (17015 Lorain Avenue) will have its official Grand Opening and ribbon cutting on Friday, November 17 at 4 p.m.

A full weekend of activities are planned including Italian Friday, All-American Saturday, and Irish Sunday with food & drink specials and live music all weekend long. Join KCDC staff and City of Cleveland officials for the ribbon cutting, or drop by anytime for the weekend festivities!

West Park Station was a participant in the City of Cleveland's Storefront Renovation program, administered locally by KCDC.

A few copies remain of From Rockport to West Park, a comprehensive history of West Park by local historian Ralph Pfingsten. Included in the 321-page book are over 340 pictures, 48 maps, and many charts of our area. Call 216-252-6559, ext. 10 to pick one up, or use our printable order form. Books are $45 each, including sales tax. This is a good holiday gift idea!

The Images of West Park 2007 Calendar

Price’s Pub is now open at 16612 Lorain Avenue (formerly Castlebar). Partners James and Sheila Sheehan and John and Jennifer Price invite you to stop in and get acquainted.

Surprise! Old Lorain Road (behind Fairview Hospital leading to the Metroparks) was repaved in October. So if you’ve been avoiding it because of its huge chuckholes and poor condition, check it out.

Cleveland City Council Members are collecting canned goods for Clevelanders now through the end of the year. If the giving spirit moves you, Councilman Michael A. Dolan asks you to please donate canned goods at the Ward 21 office, 3886 Rocky River Drive.

If you have a particular interest in seeing a Farmers Market next year in Kamm’s Corners, e-mail Steve Lorenz and let him know of your interest and what you may be able to bring to the table.

Look for the special holiday issue of Kamm’s Corners Magazine, featuring a color centerfold that introduces the KCDC staff and highlights what we do for the Kamm’s Corners community. The magazine is being distributed the week of Thanksgiving, but you may view it at our website right now!
