You are receiving this newsletter either because you “opted in” from our website, or because you gave us your email address at some point and we added you to the list. Regardless of how you got on the list, getting off the list’s easy: to un-subscribe, follow the instructions at the end of this message. Of course, we hope you’ll stick with us! And, if this has been forwarded to you and you would like to opt in, click here. We promise to never share the list for any reason.
We expect to send you a message approximately monthly, with an extra message occasionally thrown in for news that we feel is time sensitive or of great importance. These messages will complement our Kamm’s Corners Magazine, which is currently published 3 times a year in the spring, summer, and fall.
Here’s what’s happening with us and in the neighborhood:
A new Wayfaring map, configured by our neighborhood planner, Dave Walker, is now available. It includes all of the businesses in “Downtown” Kamm’s Corners, and even includes a satellite view! Check it out here (click on Map and Directory).
Three new businesses have opened in the last couple of months: West Park Barbershop at 17008 Lorain, Segway of Cleveland at 17100 Lorain (offering tours of the Metroparks on a Segway! See www.gosegway.net or drop in), and Wireless Toyz—with the assistance of the City of Cleveland Storefront Renovation Program (SRP) —on the corner of Triskett and Warren, featuring everything for your wireless needs.
A new restaurant, West Park Station, will be opening (also SRP!) in the former Hastings Home Health building at 17015 Lorain. It will feature outdoor dining on Lorain, as well as storefront windows that roll up for that “open air” feel! Click on the pictures below for larger views:
.
The former Computer Wholesalers has expanded their business, changed their name to ProTech PC Services, and moved down the street to 16604 Lorain. See John for all your computer and security needs.
Fairview Hospital held the grand opening for their $17.2 million renovation last month. Several departments were upgraded or expanded, including a beautiful and spacious new Birthing Unit. See www.fairviewhospital.org.
The former Gables Restaurant, currently occupied as Kilbane’s Tavern, will be renovated to its former glory and re-opened as a restaurant and tavern. The City of Cleveland utilized spot eminent domain to acquire the property. Councilman Michael Dolan deserves your thanks for shepherding this process to a conclusion.
Charlie’s Beverage at 15803 Lorain recently underwent renovation with assistance of the City of Cleveland SRP administered locally through KCDC. The design features creative signage, canvas awnings and simulated balconies.
Enterprise Rent-a-Car will be the new occupant of the former Barrett Used Cars at 15931 Lorain Avenue. Look for renovation to the building as well as new landscaped planters around the perimeter of the property.
Our Annual Town Meeting is coming up in early May and will be held at St. Joseph Academy, 3430 Rocky River Drive. The date and speaker will be confirmed shortly. Please check our website for the latest information, which will be posted as soon as it is available.
The Independence Day Parade, organized by the West Park Kiwanis, is accepting applications for participants. A participation form can be downloaded from our website (click here). Questions may be directed to Cliff LaRocque at (216) 252-1364. Kamm’s Corners Development Corporation has been honored as Parade Marshal this year!
Have a safe and fun St. Patrick’s Day! Remember, the benefit of a neighborhood like ours is its walkability. Why not leave the car at home this year?
Thanks for your interest in the Kamm's Corners Development Corporation and the Kamm’s Corners neighborhood as a whole. Our service area includes all of Ward 21.
