Asphalt Cinema!

Asphalt Cinema is back the third Friday of June, July, and August, so bring your lawn chairs and blankets to the Southeast Quad Parking Lot at West 168th Street and Albers Avenue (behind Walgreens) for our free summer movies under the stars. On Friday, June 16th, the event is sponsored by Fairview Hospital and begins with creative games and activities for children at booths operated by Downtown Kamm's Corners merchants starting at 6:30 p.m. Throughout the evening, kids can get free balloon creatures by Balloon Man Gene. Nanny McPhee begins at dusk. Click here for more information.

The Independence Day Parade, organized by the West Park Kiwanis, returns July 4. It leaves Kamm’s Plaza at 9:30 a.m. heading east on Lorain Avenue, turns north on West Park Road (which curves back to Rocky River Drive), and ends back at Kamm’s Plaza. Registration forms are available in the KCDC office, on-line here, or by calling Cliff LaRocque at 216-252-1364.

LEAD-SAFE Paint Program

Kamm's Corners Development Corporation offers help to qualifying residents needing to paint the exterior of their homes. Program participants receive vouchers covering part of the cost of LEAD-SAFE prep supplies and paint. Applications are available now. If a house near you needs paint, why not discreetly leave a program application on the house's doorstep? Better yet, organize a painting party for a senior citizen in need. Call Dave at 216-252-6559 with questions, or email dave.walker@kammscorners.com.
