Comings & Goings
Annual Town Meeting
Rebuilding Together Cleveland
Let's get the party started! Join us at BJ's Diamond Mine for our Eminent Lorain celebration. Come see the great things that are happening, or are about to happen, in "Downtown" Kamm's Corners. There will be "new" news! Hors d'oeuvres provided by area restaurants—cash bar. Meet some of the people that are making it happen. All are welcome Wednesday, May 3 from 5:30 to 8:30. Click here for the flyer!
Comings & Goings
Enterprise Rent-a-Car will be the new occupant of the former Barrett Used Cars at 15931 Lorain Avenue. They began installing new landscaped planters last week.
A hearty welcome to Reverend John Miceli, new on staff at St. Mark's Church at 15800 Montrose. He is blessed to inherit an involved and committed church family, and a fine school to boot!
The Nationwide Insurance office of Janet Garcia will be the new occupant at 15705 Lorain Avenue. Welcome, Janet!
Neighborhood resident Ryan White will be opening an American Family Insurance office in the Chuck Humbert Studio building at 16205 Lorain Avenue. Glad to have you here, Ryan.
After a 10 year run, Shoreline Army Navy at 17136 Lorain Avenue is closing. They will be missed! If you know of a prospective tenant for this prime, but affordable, space, call Steve Lorenz at (216) 252-6559, ext. 11 or email email@example.com.
Devring's Catering will be the new occupant of the former Teddy Bear's Pizza—4059 Rocky River Drive—next to Northern Ohio Cleaners. Margie Devring is a longtime neighborhood resident and handles catering for several of Cleveland's cultural institutions and other places. Let's thank Margie for choosing Kamm's Corners for her business!
To cut down on stress in your life, get rid of some bad habits, or maybe acquire some good ones, you might want to check out Time For Change. Certified Hypnotist Jerome E. Masek is practicing at an office on Rocky River Drive near Puritas Avenue. Hours by appointment only. Call (216) 267-5827.
Trac Auto, 16415 Lorain Avenue, is now Extreme Auto Center, and Abe Eadeh is looking forward to your patronage. He specializes in detailing and repair. Call (216) 941-8083.
And we can't wrap up this month's Comings and Goings without a fond farewell to Kathleen's Kitchen, a dearly beloved part of the neighborhood for almost 25 years.
Kamm's Corners Development's Annual Town Meeting is Tuesday, May 9 at St. Joseph Academy at 7:00 pm. Our featured speaker will be Cleveland Police First District Commander and neighborhood resident Thomas McCartney. Other speakers will include Councilman Michael A. Dolan and Kamm's Corners Development's Executive Director, Steve Lorenz. Give-aways include Tribe tickets and a "spontaneous" raffle by area merchants. The Bob Bohr Award for Community Safety will be presented for the first time too. Please join us!
Free Mulch for Cleveland Residents
Beginning April 22, 2006, City of Cleveland residents can get free mulch from Rosby Resource Recycling, 54 East Schaaf Road in Brooklyn Heights. Supplies may be limited. Call (216) 661-6102 to ensure availability.
Rebuilding Together Cleveland is accepting applications for Rebuilding Day 2006. The program concentrates on exterior home repairs, including scraping, painting, powerwashing, minor plumbing work, and yard cleanup. On June 24, volunteers will be working in teams to perform these tasks for select homeowners that are low income, at least 55 years of age and living alone. If you know of someone who could use a day's worth of help around the house, please contact Dave Walker at (216) 252-6559 ext. 22 or firstname.lastname@example.org by April 15.
Have a safe and happy Easter or Passover!
