The Hooley Returned May 12th! Police Estimate Crowd at 27 - 30,000
For the third year in a row, Lorain Avenue was closed from Rocky River Drive east to West 165th Street for our homecoming festival of live music, family friendly activities, food, and attractions. The event took place from noon till 8 p.m. Area eateries and taverns offered specials to keep the party going strong! The entertainment schedule and flyer are here.

The Kamm's Corners Farmers Market opens outdoors on Sunday, June 10th!
The market returns to its outdoor location in the municipal lot at 16906 Albers Avenue on June 10th. Along with farm made goodies, each market Sunday includes live music, a chef demo, and items from a featured crafter. On June 10th enjoy horse and wagon rides from Yesteryear Horse & Carriage. The chef demo is by AMP 150. Brand New Hat will entertain. The popular semi-annual Perennial Exchange will take place that day, too. Visit the Kamm's Corners Farmers Market website here. |

Grant Awarded to KCDC
We are proud to announce that the Cuyahoga Arts & Culture Board of Trustees recently awarded KCDC $4,733 for our Summer Music Series! As you may be aware, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture is supported by a tax on cigarettes. KCDC is pleased to be among the 88 groups that were funded for 2012 in their “Project Support II” category. This grant award, along with support from our generous sponsors such as Fairview Hospital, will help pay for the music at The Hooley on Kamm’s Corners™, the summer Kamm’s Corners Farmers Market, and Asphalt Cinema. Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative (TLCI) Grant Establishes Plan for Lorain Avenue
How could Lorain Avenue from West 160th to the West Park Rapid Transit Station look in the future? This study commissioned by KCDC with a steering committee comprised of city officials and staff, neighborhood stakeholders, and residents attempts to identify future development opportunities as well as pedestrian, bike, and transit amenities that might be part of our future. City Architecture designed the plan, and it was rolled out at a public meeting in July. Not all of this will come true, of course, but this plan will be used to guide future development when opportunities arise. Download the 10.4 MB plan here. |
